Communication and networks
Structured copper and fibre cabling, network infrastructure and communication equipment. We are R&M freenet Certified Copper Installers.
Structured cabling, copper and fibre, and network infrastructure for vessels and industry. We are R&M freenet Certified Copper Installers: every link is terminated, tested and documented.
What the work involves
Networks are rarely a topic until they are a problem. At that point it usually turns out that the installation, not the equipment, is what fails: a poor termination, a cable run too close to a variable frequency drive, or a patch panel nobody ever documented.
Structured cabling
Copper and fibre, from cable routes and pulling through to termination, patch panels and labelling. We test every link and hand over the test results as part of the documentation. That gives the installation a baseline: the next time something drops out, its condition can be compared against the measurements taken when the network was new.
R&M freenet Certified Copper Installer
The certification is a completed technical course in data networks from R&M, and it applies to the installer, not to the product. For a buyer that is the whole point: cabling is a trade where quality stays invisible right up until it fails, and the certification is third-party confirmation that the work is carried out, tested and documented to a defined regime.
Networks on board and in plants
Cabinets, switches, power supply and physical structure. The network has to survive vibration, moisture, temperature swings and electrical noise from equipment standing right next to it, which places different demands on routing and shielding than an office building does.
Networks built by others
We frequently take over networks that have grown without a plan and without up-to-date documentation. In that case we start by mapping what is actually connected where, labelling cabinets and patch panels and testing the links, before we draw any conclusions at all.
Equipment we work with

What we do
- Copper cabling: pulling, termination, patch panels and labelling, carried out by a certified installer.
- Fibre: pulling, termination and link testing.
- Testing and documentation: results per link, handed over as a report on completion.
- Network infrastructure: cabinets, switches, power supply and physical structure.
- Communication equipment on board and in industrial plants: installation, cabling and replacement.
- Fault-finding in existing networks, including where documentation is missing.
- Surveying and labelling of networks that have grown without a plan.
- Extensions: new outlets, new cabinets and new links into a plant that is in operation.

Questions we are often asked
What does R&M freenet Certified Copper Installer mean in practice?
R&M is a manufacturer of cabling systems. The certification is a completed technical course in data networks, and it confirms that the installer has been trained to terminate, test and document copper installations to the manufacturer's own regime. It applies to the person doing the work, not to a product bundle. The practical difference for you is that the installation leaves behind measurements and documentation, not just a network that worked on the day it was put in.
Do we get test documentation for the installation?
Yes. The links are tested and the results form part of the handover. The value shows up later: when something hangs or drops out, the fault can be held up against measurements taken when the installation was new, instead of the discussion stalling between the network supplier and the equipment supplier with neither able to point to a number.
Can you take over a network we have no documentation for?
Yes, and it is a common assignment. We map what is connected where, label cabinets and patch panels, test the links and hand over an updated overview. The job is rarely large, but it is almost always what makes the next round of fault-finding quick.

Network dropping out?
The emergency line is staffed around the clock, all year. We are happy to make a first assessment over the phone.
